Disability is Natural

Alexandra’s single, “My Mockingbird” was inspired by her brother, Andrew (his nickname is A.J.). A.J. has Down syndrome and autism, and through his public school experience, he never had much opportunity to interact with his non-disabled peers, though he loves people. They always had some separate program that didn’t come naturally to him. They never tried to understand who he was and missed out on a very cool person.

The Idea: ‘Resident Evil’ Strikes a Healing Chord

Alexandra calls it her “play therapy.” Playing through Capcom’s survival horror video game Resident Evil* was a path to healing for the young artist, who suffered a head injury that darkened her personality and perspective. Read about the journey and listen to the songs she produced about the village of “friends” she made along the way, in the form of the game’s characters that face adversity. Gradually, the intricate stories and search for light replaced the darkness that had taken up residence in her mind.

Alexandra wrote a series of “theme songs” as tributes to the heroes, antiheroes and comic sidekicks that touched a chord in her life.

The hauntingly stunning melodies, relatable lyrics and inspiring vocals that emerged from her journey don’t mention characters by name. Instead, they tell stories we can all relate to. Some will resonate with those who have come through hard times or left a toxic relationship; others carry contagious inspiring encouragement.

Fans say her voice is unique and spellbinding.

For her, every note brings joy she was uncertain she would feel again.

One of a Kind

It’s a perfect way to describe Alexandra - one of a kind. But this special song is a tribute to the one and only Alice, whose character in Resident Evil has a dark, Wonderland-esque adventure. Alexandra’s emotional anthem declares: “I am taking back me. Down the rabbit hole, I’m free.”

Sunrise 7

A tragic tale can make you feel all the feels. The story of Ethan from the video game Resident Evil reminded Alexandra of time spent in the darkness and emerging from it better. Sunrise 7 takes inspiration from Ethan’s search for his lost love, and from Alexandra’s own journey back to wellness. “No words. 20 years,” The song begins, a cheeky reference to how much she missed her characters, and how long it felt like to not have them or the words she needed to express herself.

“Reminds me of Billie Eilish, combined with some type of operatic singer. The quality of audio is amazing, and I really like the beat. It feels swaying, moving, and interesting. I would listen to this on the radio 100%.”

“The vocals were gorgeous, and the instruments added to the hauntingly beautiful tone of the music.”

Fun-sized Fire

Good things come in small packages and looks can be deceiving. One of Alexandra’s favorite Resident Evil characters is Rebecca, who has the outsized skills and the heart to change the world for good. Fortunately, the evil powers that be underestimate her due to her diminutive stature. Alexandra cleverly speaks for all of us who have been belittled or bullied in this empowering melody.
